If you like Irish whiskey or simply want to discover something different in the heart of Dublin, the Irish Whiskey Museum is an original, accessible, and surprising experience. Here's how my visit went, what the tour includes, and how to get a £101 discount if you book through their official website.

2. What is the Irish Whiskey Museum?
Just a few meters from Trinity College is this one-of-a-kind museum, which pays tribute to the "uisce beatha" (water of life in ancient Gaelic), as the ancient Celts used to call it. They offer an introductory tour into the world of whiskey with a guide, followed by a tasting of its different varieties.
Ireland is believed to have been one of the first countries in the world to master the technique of distillation, thanks to monks who traveled to different parts of the Middle East and brought back knowledge that they later implemented in their preparations.

3. How was my visit?
During the visit, you'll explore various themed rooms, beginning with an introductory video that summarizes the history of Irish whiskey from its Celtic roots.
Then we move on to a recreation of what the homes of those who produced artisanal whiskey were like. clandestine, with antique tools and a very well-crafted setting. It was one of my favorite parts: it transports you straight back to another era.
Afterwards you visit a interactive pub, where some of the biggest names in the Irish whiskey industry are projected... and the best part is, they're actually talking to each other! It's a lively, dynamic, and very entertaining scene that's surprisingly well done.
Explanation during the tour
My guide was a young Irish woman with a name I couldn't pronounce or remember. She was friendly and very passionate about the topic. She explained everything clearly and with good humor.
The tour ends with a guided tasting, where we tasted three different styles of Irish whiskey while we learned about their flavor, production process, and differences. 👉 If you choose the premium tour, you get four whiskeys instead of three!
Our guide is always happy and has a huge smile on his face.Souvenir shop
At the end of the tour, there is a very complete souvenir shop with t-shirts, accessories of all kinds and, of course, lots of whiskey!
Bar / Cafeteria
The museum has a cafeteria/bar, so if you still feel like drinking more after the tour (as happened to everyone on my tour), you can have a pint of Guinness or take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Irish coffee.
4. Is it worth it?
Absolutely. It's an ideal option if you don't want to leave Dublin and are looking for an activity that lasts about an hour, which is the duration of the guided tour. It's ideal for after lunch or as an afternoon plan if it's raining. The first time I went, I wasn't familiar with the world of whiskey, so it's a great first introduction.
5. How to get a 10% discount
Book from the official website from the museum, using the code: HOLAIRLANDA10
Before paying, you'll be able to enter the code to apply the discount in the box marked with the arrow. Once this is done, the discount will be applied as shown in the image. You're done. You can go to "Pay now" with the discount added.
6. 💡 Helpful tip:
If you have time after the tour, stay a while in the museum bar. They have dozens of whiskey labels, including some hard-to-find ones. Plus, you can order Irish coffee prepared with a precision you won't find in just any pub.
